INTEGRAL EYE MOVEMENT THERAPY (IEMT)

WHAT IS IT?

IEMT stands for Integral Eye Movement Therapy.  It’s a change tool and model that allows the client to disassociate themselves from disturbing memories and update the identity to reduce negative emotions.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

IEMT works on the memory imprints that are causing the emotion.  We are not the same as a Councillor where there is support and care linked in, it’s a model that allows the therapist to remain detached from the clients’ story, which then doesn’t allow the clients’ present emotions to cave in or alter.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS, WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

IEMT uses a series of questions, labelling the memory and saying what the emotion might be, i.e. School, Embarrassed.   Once we have that we ask the client to follow our finger in one of either two patterns, depending on what we are working on.  We collaborate after the eye movement and assess the changes that are happening.

WHAT DOES IEMT WORK ON?

IEMT works very well on anxiety related issues, especially well on long term complaints, i.e. depression, low self-esteem. Within this we look at Identities within the Client.

Other examples IEMT works on; Stress and anxiety, Reducing the impact of negative experiences; PTSD, Flashbacks,                              Insomnia ,Feelings of anger, guilt, regret and remorse ,Fears and phobias

PTSD – with this we work on the Lynchpin, this is the point when the incident happens, the most significate part.

PSAC – Physiological State accessing Cues – with this we explore the relationship between negative states and body language. This is extremely effective and has great results within a short period.
